Week One

173.4

- 4.2

I'm pleased with that!

It hasn't been that difficult.

I haven't been as by the book as the book suggests.

  • I've not had too many vegetables (going to try and add more this week).
  • I've had much more than a handful of berries...including half a banana in my smoothie every day.
  • I've eaten TONS of nuts and cheese.
  • I had some products with corn, potatoes and rice.
  • I've had wine almost every night.
I think that to continue seeing results I'll have to tweak some of those bulleted points.

This week I'm going to try to add more vegetables.  I'll still have spinach in my morning smoothie, and then hopefully add asparagus, lettuce, cucumbers to another meal.

I might dial down the nuts, too.  I mean, I ate soo many nuts and cheese!

Overall, pretty excited about such a big number on minimal effort :)

-2.6!

Wow! 175 this morning.  That's down 2.6 from yesterday.

Lots of water weight, I peed all day yesterday.

Makes me really curious for tomorrow's weigh in.

It's really not been bad going with no wheat...of course, it's been just me and the kiddo, no work/school/family/social engagements.

That could change things.

But yeah for now! Makes me feel so much better!

The Numbers

177 pounds.

Wow.

Not since pregnancy have I seen that number.

Two days wheat free (except for the soy sauce I used in my chicken yesterday, but I got wheat free at the store today).

Love the Green Monster Smoothie.
1/2 frozen banana
1/4 c. Chobani vanilla greek yogurt
1/2 c. milk
1 scoop of peanut butter
Handful of spinach

Blend in the ol' magic bullet and drink up.

Super filling.

Way to eat veggies (which I don't do).

Really, I haven't felt very hungry.  Trying to only eat when I do.

Let's see what tomorrow's number is...

The Challenge

Three.Five Years:

+ 5 Marathons
+ 10 Half Marathons
+ Countless 15 k's, 10 k's, 5 k's
+ 30 pounds

Obviously, my 30 pound weight gain didn't come from sitting on my ass.

They say abs are made in the kitchen.

Let's see.

Following the Wheat Belly Diet starting August 1st.

Training for the Marine Corp Marathon on October 28 and 26.2 w/ Donna in February.

They say you can lose a pound a day.  I'm hoping for 2 a week.

Beginning stats come on Wednesday.
